Assalamu’alaikum Wr’ Wb’

Good morning everybody and well say you all.

Honorable all of lecturer,

Honorable best adjudicators,

My beloved all my friends in this competition

Firstly let say thanks to Allah SWT who still give us a healthy so we can stand here, especially in this competition.

And as a Moslem doesn’t forget to give greetings to our prophet Muhammad SAW who could get us from the darkness to the brightness.

And we hope he will help us in the Day of Judgment.

Well, let know me, I am Azlina Ridmayani Nasution.

I would like to talk about Global Warming.

I know if my topic is unsuitable with our theme “Building and developing the student’s creativity”. But, please give a chance for me to explain it clearer.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Brother and Sisters,

Do you know what is global warming?

And how come its can happen?

Based on Oxford dictionary said global warming is increase in temperature of the particular gases, especially carbon.

From the meaning of global warming, so we can think what is the bad effect from it?

1.     Damage our health

2.     Damage the plants and animal’s live

3.     Automatically many disadvantage from it.

Why I say like that?

Global warming can be happen coz of the decrease of ozone. And automatically it can make UV-Ray can strike us face to face.

Do you know ladies and gentlemen, brother and sisters, what is the bad effect of UV-Ray that strike face to face?

-         Cataract

-         Decrease of our energy

-         Skin’s cancer

WHO (World Health organization) said if many impact from global warming in our health.

Why?

Because the extreme of temperature/rainfall make virus disease bacteria have opportunity to growth by enlarge.

And flood can make the decrease of society nutrient coz their harvest have disturbance.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Brother and Sisters,

I also want you know the fact that I know coz the impact of global warming.

* The molting of ice in artic and antartic

          Fe :

- ice in Greenland have 19 million ton

- volume of ice in artic be ½ than 4 years ago when the summer 2007.

So, how about now?

You must know ladies and gentlemen, if 7 meters of Greenland be molting, so it can sink all of beach, airport, and lowland in the world.

And I think this condition is so clearly for us coz we also can look the effect from it in our life.

I would like to ask you, have you say ‘how hot in our world now!’

Is it right?

And then, the chairman of NSIDC, Ted Scambos said if ices plates-Wilkins Ice Shelf is seldom collapse.

But, coz global warming, a little more can be disappear.

At last any much Phenomenon can show how it is serious condition.

March o6, 2008, 414 km² ices blocks in antartic (and I think its almost 1,5x Surabaya or 1/3 Jakarta area) is fall out.

Well, I would like to strengthen you,

USA, Global Fluid Dynamic and Goddart International Space Study said if Indonesias temperature near 2 - 4,2⁰ C.

Do you know what does mean?

It is one of scenario that can happen is the replay of PETM (Paleocence-Eocene Thermal Maximum) {Mati Masal}.

So, as the university student,

How do we think out about it?

a.     Go Green!

Nasfryzal said if we can do it like forest cultivation return coz it can absorve CO₂ and it can obstruck the extreme of whether/iclim changes.

b.     And I also have some solution from Kompas

-         Turn on the lamp for 5am for 10pm

-         Efficiency to use the electronic equipment

-         Decrease the use of plastic material

-         Recycle the rubbish

-         Use the free pollution transportation like bicycle

-         Prevention the burn off rubbish, garbage

-         Use the 3R like Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Please, start it from our self.

Back to our theme, building and developing the student’s creativity,

Now I want to remind you friends, our ability be not just to the new thing, but we can use it to our self. And I think, this case be not just for us, but for all people.

Please, show your self as a university student who has more creative thinking than others.

And don’t show if our knowledge less the people who hasn’t an education.
